Trip

This past week has found me sick with a nasty cold.  Sometimes cold's are so miserable because you feel like you should be able to get something done, cause its not like your vomiting or something.  SO it is sickness and guilt.  It really screwed up the week for me, made me miss my runs and an enrichment I was actually looking forward to.  To add insult to injury the weather this week has been paradise perfect!  I could have gotten so much done.  Jeff even had a vacation day planned for Friday, which he took but he spent the time taking care of me.  What it wasn't going to interupt was our Satruday plans.  We took Max, left the babes with a friend and went to Kansas City.  The Kansas City Temple is finally done and we wanted to attend the open house.  The trip was rather uneventful which was refreshing.  There were supposed to be possible tornados, but they seemed to have stayed in Oklahoma.  We stopped at an outlet mall for lunch, they had good stores but it is always disapointing to shop when you are at weight heaviest.  We took Max to a resturant called T-REX.  The whole place was designed to look prehistoric.  It was impressive.  I felt like I was at Disneyland minus the rides.  He liked it alot and we got him a giant dino-bone cup.  Then off the the temple.  It is a beautiful temple.  The styling inside was lovely and very to my likeing.  There was an olive tree theme to everything that kept the colors to a woodsy brown and green.  Super thrilled to see the clothing rental, cause I always stress out that I have forgotten something in Oklahoma City.  It was really cool to see the whole building.  It seems like since I moved from Utah I can only squeeze in one activity per tempple trip, so it was nice to see the whole thing.  I realized that it has been over a decade since I have done baptisms.  I guess it is time for me to get called into Young Women's or soemthing.  On the way home my sickness got the best of me and I will say I felt all three and a half hours of that drive.  Ooof.  When we got back we got a glowing report from the kind lady who watched to kids all day.  I don't know if this was cause they were good or cause the lady is just so nice.  Either way it was nice to have someone watch the babes so we could spend time with Max.  Final thoughts, I am so glad we now have a temple in Kansas City.  It is not our assigned temple, but Kansas City is so much more fun then Oklahoma City.  It is nice to get out of the mini temple, but I was suprised at how small it actually was; I assumed that since it was not a mini temple it would be big like the Mt. Timp or Boston.  NOPE.  I am afraid it will be really crowded for awhile.  I do hope to go back soon.  Glad I could take Max.  I realized that even growing up in the church for one reason or another I was not able to make it to the temple until I was seventeen.  So I am glad that Max had the oppertunity so young.
