Time to cut

So for the past two years I have been growing out my hair.  After Mae was born I was too vague at the salon and got a trucker shag that had me looking like Florence Henderson from the 70's era of the Brady Bunch.  Within  a week I got a second haircut to try to fix it.  Ever since then I have been a bit jumpy at the thought of getting my hair cut.  My own PTSD if you will.  This has been hard cause I used to like getting my hair cut.  I was a firm believer in the "it will grow back philosophy."  I got the hair itch last spring but chickened out and just got a trim and thin.  My friend scared me by using the phrase "mom hair" and "turning 30"  in the same sentence.  Well the time has come for a cut.  I am going short and excited that I finally have enough hair to donate.  I am thinking of something like this cut.
I showed this to someone and they remarked that  "Well Carey Mulligan is the kind of cute girl who would look cute with any hair cut."  Yeah I could fill up a notebook with all the implied insults of that statement.  I know it won't look as good as that cause it is true that I not as cute as her.  Oh well, I want to try something.  It would be nice if after 30 years I had found my hair cut.  You know how those lucky few have stumbled upon the best cut for them and rock it year after year.  I would love to find mine and be done.  I hope I haven't already cause that would be depressing.  Well wish me luck, or laugh your head off at the humiliation possibilities.

I want to chop my hair really short too! But I still want it to be really low maintenance. This cut looks cute -- how much maintenance do you think it needs? maybe I'll get it too even though I'm sure I wont' make it look as cute as Carey Mulligan (whoever she is -- I honestly don't recognize her, though I've heard the name) either.

Totally cut it! But seriously pixie cuts are hard to pull off for anybody, especially if like me you have no makeup days. I'd go with a tiny bit more length.

That hairstyle is cute.

I've been going through a major hair funk, too. I really want to get it chopped super short. I'd like to rock a faux-hawk, but then again, that is a hard one to do. Plus, Pete doesn't seem thrilled about the idea.

Anyways...I say go for it.
