Save the Date

All scheduled now, Mae will be here on the 22nd of September! The doctor and I have decided to go ahead and have a c-section instead of the normal vaginal delivery. Max was so big and did so much tearing that even though I healed well, I may not heal so well again. I figure the extra cost of the surgery will be cheaper then the cost of the adult diapers for the rest of my life. I will probably not have any more kids so I am not worried about future complication with multiple c-sections. I am okay with this decision, I kinda feel like I am cheating a bit, but hey, the last one was a lot of hard work. It is nice to know exactly when it is going to happen, no worrying about going over again. Reading up on recovery though I am a bit worried about how we are going to manage. Last time was so hard, and we didn't have another child to worry about. Luckily, Jeff gets two weeks maternity leave so that will help bundles, but who will he take care of Me, Max or Mae? Poor guy, I keep telling him to rest now, (So easy to do with a new house and an old one to fix and rent.) I am also blessed to be in the same excellent ward that I was in when I had Max. So many people helped us get through that first little bit, and we have even more friends then we did three years ago. (Hooray for Walmart's heavy Utah recruiting.) And now I am babbling. To end on a happy note, I just received a huge box of baby clothes and stuff (hooray for maternity garments,) from my mother and sister Krista. It was so fun to see my own baby clothes, the dress from my Aunt Valine's wedding, my blessing dress, even my baptism dress made it in. I also got a really good hall of Liesl's old clothes and a few new items. I never thought I would enjoy pink so much!

yay! congratulations! I don't want to have a c-section but I am envious of knowing when it will happen for sure! I got to 40 weeks both time feeling like there was no light at the end of the tunnel, begging for induction! :)

pink is fun! and Teriney always does awesome after her c-sections, I'm sure it will go great, even with two kids!

I wouldn't worry about multiple C-sections if you do decide later that you want another child. I had 3 and a friend of mine had 5. The hardest part after is taking care of the older child. You can't lift anything heavier than the new baby for 6 weeks.

Congratulations. It would have been so nice to know when Mikey was coming. Unfortunately there was "no medical reason" to be induced which translates into "insurance won't pay for it". So I had to wait which ruined my Valentine's Day (I spent all day in labor). I have the date on my calendar. We're so excited for you!

Congrats on the date! I have had an emergency c-section (1st) and a planned one (2nd) and the planned one was super easy (comparatively I guess). By the time Jeff has to go back to work you should be fine (unless you want to milk it for longer!) Just make sure they send you home with Vicodin. Don't believe them if they say you will be fine with the 800mg advil. Get the heavy hitters!
