Max has started to lie. Any good lesson suggestions? Currently he has the biggest problem when it comes to flushing the toilet. For some odd reason he doesn't want to anymore and then says he has. Anyway I want to nip this lying in the bud before it becomes a life long habit. I think it took me about twenty years before I realized it was just easier to not lie in the first place.

We have a liar in our house. I have a few movies you could borrow. One is veggie tales, and the other is scripture bugs. I also have an FHE lesson with a story from an old issue of the Friend (from like the 70's) about being honest that has a laminated boy. You tell a story about how he tells one lie, then another, then another, and you add little moster tentacles to him until he turns into a lie monster. It's a little dramatic, but has a good ending. YOu can borrow any of them and see if they help spark conversation about honesty with Max.
I have found that it helps to have a very specific consequence designated just for lying, so there is no question as to what will happen when they tell a lie. "if I lie, then X will happen".
