Not A Good Sign...

So Mae is normally a very good mannered baby. The exception being when she wants something. Mae is very particular about her eating. She loves breast milk in a bottle, her whole body relaxes and she lays in Jeff's arms as if she were in heaven. When she nurses she doesn't like to stay on the first side very long. She only stays until the milk has stopped gushing and she has to work. Afterwards she starts angrily squaking until she is taken to the other side. She will go back to the first side but only after exhausting the second side. Yesterday Jeff and I decided that this behavior was a bit ridiculous. We decided to hold our ground and make her stay on one side until finished. She got so STEAMED! She wasn't sad she was angry. She even cried and would take tiny little breaks to look at me to see if she was making any progress and as soon as she made eye contact with me and it registered that I wasn't budging she started squaking again. It was actually really funny, but disturbing to think that she was already so set in her ways and ready to fight for them. She caved a little in the end and ate a bit more. Then I caved, moving her from one side to the next until she was satisfied that she had gotten as much as she could for the least amount of work. How funny that she is already exactly like her mother just as Max is exactly like Jeff.

Tanya had this problem with Hank, and she discovered holding him in the "football hold" so it seemed like he was positioned for the other side when he really wasn't. Try it and see if it works.
