Mae and I have a funny thing in common. We both have a cousin named Lindsey who is just a few months younger then us. Mae got to meet her new BFF and they hit it off both crying together.

Larkins

It is so funny cause I think my children look so much like me. They have my eyes and my nose and Max even has my mouth. But as you can see, they are totally Larkins.

Rock and Roll All Night!
Went to Utah and Max got a chance to play with a real rock star, his Uncle Mark. Max just may be ready to move beyond Rock Band for the real thing now.

More effective means of travel
Because Mom just isn't getting me where I want to go, I will have to work on it myself. - Mae
All of the sudden I hear an unexpected crinkle from the play mat. Mae had turned herself onto her side. Well on her way to rolling around the house!

Not A Good Sign...
So Mae is normally a very good mannered baby. The exception being when she wants something. Mae is very particular about her eating. She loves breast milk in a bottle, her whole body relaxes and she lays in Jeff's arms as if she were in heaven. When she nurses she doesn't like to stay on the first side very long. She only stays until the milk has stopped gushing and she has to work. Afterwards she starts angrily squaking until she is taken to the other side. She will go back to the first side but only after exhausting the second side. Yesterday Jeff and I decided that this behavior was a bit ridiculous. We decided to hold our ground and make her stay on one side until finished. She got so STEAMED! She wasn't sad she was angry. She even cried and would take tiny little breaks to look at me to see if she was making any progress and as soon as she made eye contact with me and it registered that I wasn't budging she started squaking again. It was actually really funny, but disturbing to think that she was already so set in her ways and ready to fight for them. She caved a little in the end and ate a bit more. Then I caved, moving her from one side to the next until she was satisfied that she had gotten as much as she could for the least amount of work. How funny that she is already exactly like her mother just as Max is exactly like Jeff.

Every girl needs a good hat in this weather!
Continuing my long standing tradition of dressing my kids up as stuffed animals.
I would like to thank Meg and GYMBOREE for making this possible.

Business

So I am ready to do my next spotlight, but I need a name for the post, I don't like spotlight it is too warm fuzzy- too relief society. Any suggestions? Also, I would like some suggestions for the tenth edition of "Things That Must Go." I know I am not the only misanthrope out there. I have not been much of a chatty Kathy lately, I don't know why, but I just don't really want to talk on the phone that much. I am not saying don't call, but just don't expect a call. It's not you- it's me. Those of my fans in Utah will be happy to hear that thanks to my folks frequent flyer miles I will be heading out there at the end of the month with the kiddos. I am already composing a list of food I will eat while out there. Jamba Juice here I come. Of course I am also looking forward to seeing the families. I expect I will have limited Internet access and time for the Internet so expect a famine followed by a feast of travelogue.
What do you think is happening in the random above photo? At first I thought they were just waiting for the bus, but with further reflection it looks like they are waiting outside the principals office. But then why do you think they were called to see the principal? Was there an altercation? Any other location guesses?
